Anna’s Quest Review

A young girl, Anna, lives tucked away in the Western Woods with her grandfather until one day he falls very ill. Anna has always been told to never leave the farm, but her love for her grandfather is too great and so she leaves .When she leaves the safety of the farm, that is when the true journey of Anna’s Quest begins. She will have to deal with talking animals, witches, goblins, and more. It’s a treacherous path that she will have to take, but she is willing to do anything for her grandfather, the only family she’s ever known.

Anna’s Quest is a point and click adventure that will take you to several different locations. You will have to deal with a variety of puzzles and obstacles. For the most part, I found the puzzles intuitive and when I didn’t have exactly what I needed, Anna was helpful enough to give me a small push in the right direction. There were a couple of instances that left me scratching my head, but thankfully it didn’t really interrupt the story. Speaking of the story, I found it cute, and pretty predictable, but still fun.

I’ve been a fan of Daedalic Entertainment games, and I have to say that this game was of the same quality, as well as done in the same art style. I found that most of the characters I interacted with definitely had personality, which was solidified thanks to the voice acting. To be honest the only part of the entire game/story was the ending. It felt slapped on. I understand what the storyteller was going for but at the same time it just felt awkward. Now, outside of that part I think most fans of the point and click genre will enjoy this game. I, personally, got 9 hours out of this game, I’m sure it can be done faster, but I definitely got my money’s worth with it.
