The Witcher Gets a New Saga

CD PROJEKT RED announced yesterday a new chapter in their extremely popular series The Witcher. Although the announcement was a bit light on the details, it did give us a bit of information. The first thing was that the company will be transitioning from REDengine to Unreal Engine 5 for this game. This will allow for a partnership between the two companies to help create a strong open-world experience. Honestly, I think there are more than a couple of fans out there who will rejoice over that fact. Not that there was anything wrong with REDengine, well that’s not true, but this might help the company avoid any of the huge issues that they ran across in CyberPunk2077.

The company will continue to use REDengine for CyberPunk2077 and for all future expansions of the game, but the new Witcher game will/is being developed exclusively with Unreal Engine 5 at its base. The company did not mention any additional information about this specific project, but this will definitely start the building of hype around the game, as well as a mountain of questions.

  • Where will this chapter take us?

  • Who will we interact with?

  • What new secrets will we uncover?

  • When can we get our hands on this?

  • What platforms are they going to release this on?
