TACOMA Review
In the year 2088 you, Amy Ferrier, are tasked with a retrieval mission to an abandoned space station, Tacoma. You have been hired by the Venturis Corporation to retrieve the AI data left behind by the crew. In this first person game you will be navigating your way through different sections, collecting information from each, and discovering what really happened to the crew members. Let’s just say that not everything is what it seems, and if you’re willing to dig you might find a very interesting story.
I’m not going to say that the graphics are going to blow you away in this game, but there’s enough to visually pull you in and keep you locked in. The reason, in my opinion, is the story of the crew, and what REALLY happened on the Tacoma. Sure, you can try to race through the game, but this is the kind of game where you should definitely stay for the story. As you go through the different sections of the space station you will be able to replay certain events that happened with the crew. It could be something as simple as a celebration, it might be scheming, only by interacting in those areas will you find out.
For the most part this game feels like a walking simulator, by that I mean you’re basically going from point A to point B, there is no combat, but there are some light puzzle aspects to the game just to keep you on your toes, but overall you’ll just be walking through the story. There are some extra/optional parts to the game, I think I was able to do everything, but one thing. If memory serves, I believe I couldn’t find a key to open up something.
Anyways, I enjoyed this game, it’s not fast paced, but it was very enjoyable. There is definitely something about this game that once I started playing I couldn’t stop until I finished it. I’m not saying that everyone will finish this game in one sitting, but I was able to do so in just under 1 hour and 30 minutes.
